Dissensions

The obvious lack of unity in the religious world today requires more concern than just a shrug of the shoulders.  It is sinful.

In Galatians 5:20, the word "dissensions" refers to the division that exists.  This word comes from the Greek word DICHOSTASIA and is found in other translations as "seditions, divisions and factions."  Strong's defines it as "disunion..."

So, exactly, how does God feel about the lack of unity in the religious world?  It is condemned and sinful. How do we come to an agreement on religious matters?  The answer seems to be found in Romans 16:17, "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them."

Do not accept a religious teaching that is not founded in Scriptural truth.  To do so is to embrace division.  The key to standing together is standing on the truth!
